Copper plate engraving. Approx. 7. 5 x 4.5 cm in the plate. Depicts John Wycliffe (Wycliff, Wyclif) (c. 1325 – 31 December 1384) English theologian, early dissident in the Roman Catholic Church, founder of the Lollard movement, "The Morning Star of the Reformation.” Wycliffe completed the first translation of much of the New Testament into vernacular English in the year 1382, now known as the Wycliffe Bible.
